Lyra Asia Pte Ltd

Lyra Asia Pte Ltd was incorporated in September 1999 in Singapore, and is the regional head office of Lyra-Bleistift-Fabrik GmbH & Co. KG. It is responsible for market development in the South East Asian region, including Hong Kong, Brunei, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Lyra-Bleistift-Fabrik GmbH & Co. KG

Lyra-Bleistift-Fabrik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Nuremberg in 1806. Boasting a proud heritage in drawing pencils, Lyra is renowned throughout the world for its colouring products, particularly in the education market. The company also holds the oldest registered trademark for drawing pencils.

Since 2008, Lyra has been part of the FILA (Fabbrica Italiana Lapis e Affini) group, Italy’s leading stationery and colouring, drawing andwriting instrument company.

Philosophy

On March 5th 1868, Johann Froescheis, the son of the founder, registered the Lyra trademark with the city council of Nuremberg to distinguish the company’s products from those of lower quality. The symbol chosen for the company, an ancient Greek musical instrument called the lyre, represented art, lifestyle, peacefulness and a high quality of life in general. In the years since then, though it has been modified and modernised to keep up with the times, the logo remains fundamentally the same, just as Lyra’s commitment to innovation and quality remain as strong as it has always been.
